Alambama Vaction (so far)

As a write this morning we are in cheaha state park outside of birmingham, AL. What a crazy 2 days we've had so far.
We started off Monday night heading to Mt. Venon, IL. Everything was rolling along great untill about 50 miles away from our hotel. I was driving the last leg of the night and as i'm driving along suddenly I see the car next to me slam on their breaks and then I see why. There are deer in the road that have just wandered onto it. HOLY SHIT BATMAN! I luckly reacted quickly and have a wonderful car. I stopped with in 1/2 inch of the deer. Also the cars behind me noticed quick enough and stopped as well. No harm done to anything at all. Except I was scard so much I was shaking and John had to drive the rest of the way.

When we awoke in Mt Vernon we where suprised to find spring in full force. Blooming trees, green grass, and it smeelled amazing. We left for the day after catching a wet geocache and headed on our way. We had a wonderful drive throught Kentucky and decided to drive through the land between the lakes. It was beautiful. They have wild dafioldis that are so pretty.

Alas, at about 6pm (and about 15 miles of climbing a winding mountain road) we arrived at the park. We headed up to the campground and something that horrified us. The campsites where uneven and gravely. There was no place to pitch out tent. After driving around the park a bit more we decided we are 20 miles from the nearest town and its suppose to rain for the next 3 days here...we are going to head back north into Tennessee. Which brings me to now- its raining and we are in the hotel atop mt cheah. Its time for me to go as we need to get going...the adventures of John and Kristel are crazy but we'll always find a way to make it work.

Its offical we are sale pending!

Got the great news from our Realtor today we are officially in "sale pending" which means all the work is done until closing day. Its been quite a bit of work getting here but boy am I excited. We will keep scoping out the house waiting for the sale pending sign to go up and then we'll post pictures.

As promised my thoughts on "Australia" First thought people telling me a movie is to long and not good almost makes me want to watch it more. In this case they where right. It needed some serious editing, it wasn't horrible but I would definitely not recommend it/
J's review "not bad but definitely not good" "twice the length for 1/2 the story"

Its time for me to get cooking on food to take with on our trip!

weekend review

Sunday nights always seem to come a bit to quickly for me. However today I'm excited for out trip.
Here is my weekend in review:
Friday:
Started out the weekend by getting diner at szchwan village- great Chinese food you must try if you are in the area
I finished the evening with the movie 'head in the clouds' which i gave 5 stars. Its a WWII drama love story that sucked me in and i loved it!
Saturday:
We put up the tent to check everything out. (takes up most of our living room)
I bought one of those nice reclining patio chairs (napping outside hell ya!) I'm excited to use this next week
Then streamed in 'our man flint' which is a fun james bond type movie. we haven't finished it yet as i feel asleep and we stopped watching :)

Sunday:
Shopped a lot today some new clothes, and lots of camping things--i'm certainly helping the economy!
Also are back to training for our 5k. we ran 3 1/4 miles segments today. I hope to be up to our pace of 1/4, 1/2, 1/4, 1/2 before john's birthday. We want to run a 5k this spring so we need to push.
I'm going to finish off the night watching Australia. I'll let you know what I think later :)

Vacation Plans

J and I are heading out on vacation next week and boy are we excited. We will be heading to Cheaha State Park, AL which is about 2 hours east of Birmingham, AL. We are planning on driving up in back in one day each way.

We will be camping out in our new tent and doing lots of activities. Things so far we've looked at are visiting the Pine Mountain Gardens in Georgia, climbing the tallest mountain in Alabama, visiting the worlds tallest chair, geocaching, lots of sleeping in, and some shopping in near by towns.
